Northern Circuit Route

This route is the newest and lengthiest on Kilimanjaro, commencing at the Londorossi Gate in the West.

Northern circuit 9 days

9 Days Northern Circuit Route

It initially shares the path with the Lemosho route for the first two days. After traversing the Shira plateau, it diverges north near Lava Tower, opting for the extended Northern Circuit instead of the more commonly taken Southern Circuit through Barranco Valley.

What To Expect On Trekking

The trail encircles the quieter northern slopes, reaching the mountain's eastern side. The Northern Circuit is lengthier than other routes on Kilimanjaro, requiring a minimum of eight to nine days to complete. An eight-day trek excludes the additional acclimatization day usually spent at Shira Camp 2 and proceeds directly to Moir Camp.
